THE MANOR HOUSE

In the heart of the Pays d'Auge on the border of the region of Calvados, 200km's from Paris, 40km's from the sea side town of Deauville, 20kms from Lisieux, and 7km's from the town of, Livarot. Meautry enjoys a 180° panoramic view for over 35km's across the valley of Dives.

A HOUSE FULL OF HISTORY

The house was built in 1750 by Pierre François Richard Bonnet. Today it is in a directory style (level with the garden, a triangular balconies and is East/West facing) The house remained in the same family for 150 years. The house was also a hunting lodge where Louis XVI is said to have stayed, being just a stone's throw from Charlotte Cordey's family who are said to have been close to the King. Meautry has since housed a famous local painter and 2 English families.

3 YEARS OF BUILDING WORK

Bought by a family passionate about restoring historical houses, it took three years of hard work inside and out to bring Meautry back to it's former glory.

TOTAL CLAM IN A COUNTRYSIDE SETTING

Twelve bedrooms, (nine in the manor itself and three in the neighboring guest house) can easily house one or two families and numerous friends. In total Meautry can house 25 people.

The house sits in a two hectares of gardens and is surrounded by 10 hectares of land including a lake, a heated pool with a pool house.
